October in Alaska feels different this year. We've had one light 'frost on the windshield'. Still no hard frost where I live in SouthCentral. Dahlias and garden flowers blooming. Tomatoes, basil, marigolds still producing in the (unheated) greenhouse. Weather is changing. #globalwarming #AlaskaSky

It’s a perfect fall day here in SouthCentral. The dahlias are gorgeous and the autumn garden is still lovely. 38 degrees here this morning-friends closer to Hatcher Pass had a frost last night. I’ll be sad (as always) to see the garden go. #AlaskaSky

From greenhouse to sauce to pantry. 30 quarts canned. This is all we need for the winter. I’ve gifted the rest of the tomatoes still ripening to my friends. #AlaskaSky #HomegrownTomatoes

An Alaskan pumpkin patch. Three nice pumpkins from three planted pumpkin vines. No frost forecast here till the end of September so they can just hang out in our fall garden and begin to turn orange. #AlaskaSky

My aspirations to grow the biggest tomato at the Alaska State Fair fell a bit short. Still proud of my 1lb 10 oz tomato but congrats to the winner with a 2 pounder! #AlaskaSky
