sorry to post politics but idk man, I am from VA-6 & live in VA-9 and this year was the first time I heard about a Dem challenger in my area on state/local level *before* September election year. (she won! btw)

I feel like a lot of people forget that Lynchburg is where Liberty University is. It's one of the MSAs of VA.
This past state election, that area was lightest red, as in 49% Spanberger, 50% Earle-Sears.

everybody with their US thanksgiving sales over the weekend i am away from my desktop and i have a strict self-rule about not buying anything on my phone that i haven't solidly researched on my desktop first (better website UIs for the most part, so less frustration/more levelheaded research)

joining a video essayists' community and while I do want to rise to a challenge to make a video about captions where the captions are also the medium of the essay
i also want to share wips of text essays. if i can get them to think of visual clips with just my words, i consider my writing job done?

I need the TTRPG nerds to understand the difference between "some persons can be inherently evil" and "the people who are inherently evil are constructed out of actual historical racist stereotypes", & that the changes to D&D re: race & attributes were explicitly designed to combat the *latter*.

the number of people -- who see me with my big bose noice-cancelling headphones on, me doing some other activity like writing, them having to wave in my face to get my attention, and then them just talking at me while I go back to what I am doing, who get mad that I'm not listening -- is astounding

I guess I'm just tired of video essays that are either "here is the one reason why thing" or are "this is a summary of everything AND high-level analysis of it" because it's not true or possible inside a year let alone 4hrs or 15min.
