I got the fluke 8375A DMM working! It just needed it's switches cleaned and some one had rewired it wrong. There are still some problems to fix but the core is working!

I'm tearing back into the fluke DMM again. Look at those beautiful tubes! I'm putting deoxit on any connectors or switches I can find.

If you see this, post a Transformer.

I fixed my HP97 printers broken gear. I got one 3D printed and it works! The new gear is the gray one next to the motor output.

I ordered a couple different materials and only the Nylon PA12 gear worked. You can see the differences under the microscope.

Modded my beyond 2 headset to use the index head strap. Nice mod but a very difficult install.

Trying to model a yinglet.
I am very rusty with blender :/

I forgot how hard zis modeling shit was lol
I was decent with solid modeling but I never got good with organic modeling. No time like the present though! I'm going for a low poly look.

Yep! Highly recommend if you enjoyed the first one.

You can use duct tape as wrapping paper! Family members love vis one weird trick!

Wehehehe!

I needed a lens cover for my microscope so I made a Yinglet themed one! It's the little things.

The inside of the calculator is gorgeous! They really don't make them like this anymore. All the traces are gold and the plastic has held up great.

I replaced all the rubber parts and it should be good for another few decades!

I got "new" calculator! It's a programable HP printing calculator from 1977. It needs some repairs but it looks mint! It can read and save programs to little magnetic cards. It just needs new feed rollers for the card reader and printer.

Turns out the 200V supply on the Flue 8375A is dead! It outputs 280V instead!! I think it comes down to 2 bad transistors and a resistor. Looking at them on the curve tracer the 350V BJT breaks down at only 10V!

Gotta love Nixie tubes. The dmm isn't working but at least the tubes glow!

They don't make em like the used to! Check out this service manual. It's full of block diagrams and full schematics.

New project time! I picked up a Nixie tube fluke DMM. (8375A) It's a bit intimidating. First off though time to check voltages!

The calculator is fully working now! The printer isn't perfect but it's working well enough. It's a cute little machine from the early 80's. Interestingly it works more like an adding machine than a modern calculator.

The VFD is the best part.

Here is what the encoder on the bottom looks like. I'm fairly sure this is how it knows when the hammer is lined up with the right letter.

Also flashing lights/strobe in this one!

The vintage Canon calculator is sorta working with a new NiCad battery. The printer needs some TLC. Some times it get stuck or prints the wrong character. I soaked it in IPA and that helped. Here are some slow Mo shots of it in action.

Flashing light/strobe warning if you are sensitive to that!

I picked up a strange old calculator from a thrift store. I think it's from the early 80's. It looks like a combination adding machine and normal calculator.

Interestingly it does not use a thermal printer. The belt has symbols on it and it uses a small hammer to stamp them on the paper.

I've got an old Soviet aircraft clock that needs a stand. This is a 3D printed mock up. I'd like to use walnut and brass for the final version but I need to get the CNC working again...

Good joke, don't mind if I steal it.

A friend asked me to help fix this hobby rocket launch controller.

I've never seen anything with a build quality that bad. Every thing is hot glued in place. EVERY THING. I can't believe this was sold commercially?! I feel embarrassed just looking at the thing.

I've accumulated a small collection of analog meters. If I can make a replacement dial face I could turn them into some really sweet clocks.

Any one have suggestions on how to create a dial face?

Make shure you check your candy! You never know what might be inside. We wouldn't want any accidental Yinglet's!

Yinglet's are a dangerous cognitohazard hazard.
wehehe~
