I think sometimes we have to rethink the bigger is better approach. I think we need to make things more distributed to void the big impact in one place.
Localized renewable energy would be a job supplier locally. Politicians tend to underestimate the impact of smaller scale.

I agree. Seems to me that that’s how you create a vicious cycle-an excuse to treat a people poorly. It keeps a cycle of hate going and seems hypocritical.
That’s not to be said there shouldn’t be any public discussion, actions, or reflection on the actions of the government they supported.

This thread forced me to look up what Yorkshire pudding actually was. And it sounds delicious. We are doing Tex-Mex for Christmas Eve which basically means enchiladas, etc.

I hope you and your mother-in-law are not the only ones doing the cooking. We usually do a potluck. The host decides the menu & then puts out the call for the things that she wants. I’m bringing jalapeño cheese rice. And wine and some Irish Liquor brownies that I just learned how to make.😋✌🏻

Have you ever made a scrambled eggs for your cat? I’m just curious. I’ve run out of food before too. Typically I had some tuna — which they loved. Evidently my cats only liked scrambled eggs if they could steal a bite or 2 from my plate when I wasn’t looking.

I am always in favor of naps. Cats have taught me this. I love half an hour or 45 minute naps.
My only complaint is when I really don’t sleep enough and I end up napping for a couple hours. I can’t wake up until the cat finishes using me as a mattress.

I liked Spirited - a little preachy, but much better than Scrooge’d. IMO. For some reason I found Carol Kane & Bill Murray irritating.
But if you want to see a classic see one of the other takes on the Christmas Carol maybe the 1 with Patrick Stewart?

One of my life’s great accomplishments is the number of Christmas Carol versions I have watched, and now I am ashamed to say I never heard of this one. I’m off to look for it.
