I interview authors and love Christmas music. I've been funny before; however, past performance is not indicative of future results.
How does one go about showing a change of heart when the person is alone? How does a character show change without dialogue? The episode starts off with her trying to shift to Diabate mode of hedonism. Then a month passes, and her golf game turns into vandalism, fireworks from joy to possible death.

Big fan of this show, too. So sad it didn't get a longer run.

Well, there goes my Saturday.

I'm amazed he fit even more bad directing of actors' performances in there! The man has a gift.

Did you ever see "It's About Time"? Makes Gilligan's Island look like I Claudius.

OK, you're right; these programs are both pablum and offer nothing to the discerning mind. The scales have fallen from mine own eyes.

Practical reason: it took up several minutes of run time.
Plot reason: show, don't tell.
Character reason (Chicago version): It's hard to say I'm sorry
Romantic reason (Lloyd Dobler version): It's a gesture
Cynical Alien reason (QOTSA version):Words are weightless here on Earth,Because they're free

Yeah, that is one of them. How much of our jerkism is self-generated? Isolation vs. solitude. The extreme ends of individualism and collectivism. True pacifism vs. passive aggressiveness. The social willingness to commit collective suicide in the name of idealism. Not groundbreaking, but not vapid.

With your career being based in socio-political thought, the show can seem trite to you. For me, it has been great at raising ideas worth thinking about. I can see some parts of myself in Carol, and that has prompted some self-evaluation. It's not your bag, but I'm getting something out of it.

I do the Xmas music programming for our radio station, so I did a playlist of my fave Xmas tunes from 2000 to 2024 last year. There are a few of DB's picks on there. Nice to know our tastes overlapped. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq7u...

I mean, you had a 0.00 ERA. What more do you need to do?

I was a Cool Edit fan. It had a weirdo brainwave synchronizer function. It was nuts in a harmless way.

Cold comfort, but it sucks even worse on Windows machines. I'm trying to learn Logic on Mac, but I really miss the waveform editor on Audition.

I've heard some say that Apple Silicon is supposed to be more stable with Adobe stuff. Not so with your experience?
November 13, 2025 at 1:07 AM
Yeah, it's insane what they charge. Are you on an Intel Mac or Mac Silicon?
November 12, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I used to buy every other Adobe Audition before they went subscription.

This is a delight known as humming bird cake. Think carrot cake but with bananas instead.
