Seems familiar. Happens everywhere when you have an oppressive state. Then the truth becomes the enemy.

I believe this is attributed to Abraham Lincoln:
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
People will understand. Even if a little late.

, concentrate on the real problems, take care of one another and try to help everyone better educate themselves.
Education should not be a privilege. It should be available to all. Same with healthcare and other basic human rights.
They divided, they conquered. It's a very hard lesson.

That's ok. I obviously have no idea who you are as a person. I am just observing myself this as a phenomenon.
This is so much like Nazi Germany before Hitler took over and a lot of "Western" countries are in similar state, mine is not an exception
We have to try to communicate better among ourselves

You people? I am not American. That's what I was talking about. You are too short sighted, and you didn't understand that you should have looked out for the ones less fortunate, less smart, less privileged.
You let them become victims to this clown. And now you still can't believe how he did it.

You need to take a long hard look. People believed him and voted for him. Whether there was money involved directly or indirectly (you can't buy half the country) is irrelevant.
The smart people were too busy with getting everyone to agree with everyone else on everything.
Work the problems.

This is quite a discussion, and I guess most people would feel I am stepping on their toes being an outsider, but I have to tell you this:
It's pretty obvious how Trump won. All the smart people are dealing with the wrong problems.
He got votes, he won.

Forget about work, career or "the long game" for a few days. Reconnect with the important people in your life, spend time, be merry (or be Merry if you prefer 😜).
Have a happy holiday season, everyone!

Christmas is not our excuse, it's our reminder to keep our loved ones close, forgive and ask for forgiveness, regardless of religion or discipline (it's a human thing, not a christian thing).

Some folks view SNMP for monitoring as others view the CLI for network device admin/config. Same feelings and struggle.SNMP really starts to fall apart when trying to create custom event handling. It's where you start hating the data model, the vendors and your life.
I get what u meant with superset

I operate the same way for all the internal tooling I have set up so far for the last few years.
Nagios was the one inviting the devil in (for monitoring ip-sla via snmp), so it's on its way out. Containerizing that mess is where I drew the line.

That was funny Roman. Especially to those who have already made that exact conversation in the past (like trying to get python based snmp tools to work on new ubuntu systems)
