Austerity does work so far Milei has needed $50billion from the IMF and now $40 billion from the US. Where would he be without government help?
Can Trump buy enough votes to let Milei squeak through the up coming elections?

In their paper on austerity Taylor and Jorda showed austerity doesn't work. For every 1% of fiscal contraction you get up to 4% loss in GDP. especially pronounced when imposed during an economic downturn as Canada is experiencing. The paper was available on the Bnk of England website.

The safest most reliable payment system is the one used by the central bank. If every Canadian had an account with the central bank there would be no need for PSP's or for their regulation. Why do we keep heaping costs on to the consumer?

If private clinics exist then Canada has the resources to deal with the problem. Funding is the issue. For every healthcare $ paid by the fed govt, we are lucky if the provinces spend 50 cents on healthcare.
ENFORCE THE ACT.

Why do Canadians keep electing politicians who don't understand basic economics. You do not cut government spending going into an economic downturn.

Why is a Canadian company buying US planes. Would a self respecting citizen of Canada wants to fly with West jet after this?

What are the benefits of exports and who receives the benefits?
Remember Friedman said exports are a cost and imports are a benefit.

Doug Ford doesn't seem to believe in the value of "due diligence". He signed a 100 year lease with a company with a dubious record and questionable finances and is spending a $ billion of public money to meet the demands of said company.
Not what one would consider leadership material.

An example of buying a poll result?
A poll paid for by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation finds a majority of Canadians want to reduce the public service. One has to wonder who was polled and what the question was.

The Liberals have been known to do silly things but surely Carney isn't this naive? Doug Ford would never make this mistake.
