I stated it once during an interview with @politico.com I'm reiterating it now. Racism will persist as long as images of white enslavers continue to appear on our currency. Let’s remove Washington and all others who have participated in the enslavement of Black individuals from our money #juneteenth
there are trans women that came from Florida, New York and others states that to Texas to have shelter running from their abusers. Now the shelter may close. We all need to protect them. Help @blacktranstexas.bsky.social keep them safe

Juneteenth started as a way to commemorate the emancipation of those enslaved in the United States starting in 1865 - despite the Emancipation Proclamation taking place in 1862. It was three years later, in 1865, that federal troops arrived to bring an end to the unscrupulous practice of slavery.
