I will stop talking to myself in a bit but I do want to say that the one thing they got very right was that Josh O'Connor's character was exactly the type of person a priest *should* be.

One does not go into these movies wanting subtlety but at the same time the lighting was just a *tad* much.

also I kept thinking that "harlot whore" is a very Protestant term, it kept making me think of how they refer to the Catholic church as the scarlet woman from Revelations.

yeah from the "I inherited my grandfather's church" concept onwards I had to suspend my disbelief way harder for this movie than the other two. They could at least plausibly happen. This one... the Catholic bureaucracy would never. (I still enjoyed the hell out of the movie but Ryan come *on*.
