Give yourself something to look forward to next year. Something less substantial than a resolution which can carry regret if you can't stick to it. Think of a book you want to read, a genre of music you'd like to learn more about, a curiosity to chase no matter how trivial. Keep your spark lit.

Thinking about this again - I think part of my problem is I'm afraid to stray "too far" from the first draft. Like if I've rewritten it this many times then surely I must be close, right? It feels like a waste of time if not.
But then the actual solution is almost always drastically different so 🤷♂️

I'm trying not to get frustrated with how many times I've rewritten these damn chapters (we've gotta be double digits by now) but why the hell can't my brain just figure it out 🫠
I just keep reminding myself that the previous three chapters are now good and solid so progress is in fact being made
