Or physical handicaps/illness. Or lack of resources (incl. for supporting responsibilities). Or societal/legal limitations.

It depends on whether it's a passion or a career (careers tend to involve making money), and what it is, specifically. For instance, it is way to late for me right now to pursue a career in ballet. I would not make enough money to pay off even the most basic training.

In Spain there can (if I understand correctly) be three owners - of the land, the tree, and the right to harvest the cork this year. Similarly there can be two owners of an object - owner 1 with the right to make one decision (consent yes/no) and owner 2 with the right to make all other decisions.

This is a really good point. To me this is similar to real estate ownership. You can own a mobile home but not the land under it. A home and land, but not drilling rights. Home, land, drilling rights, but not airspace above your home. All of these, but not the cone of vacuum above atmosphere...

I just use the text function for those. And yes, I did forget that not everyone has at least one spreadsheet open at all times, but opening one and typing =text("dd/mm/yy", "DDDD") is way faster than buying a mac :)
