I just got the pc version of House of The Dead 3 working on Linux earlier which was one of the things keeping me on Windows before.

Everything seemed intimidating about it to me while I was following a tutorial but then when I finally made my first game in it everything started to click.

I tried out godot after not really liking defold and very quickly grew to love it. It's the only game engine that's ever really stuck for me.

Tenkaichi 3, Final Fantasy X, and Xenosaga? It's perfect lol. The first two are longtime favorites of mine and the third is one I've been meaning to get into.

Also yeah, most people tend to look at Steam's player count as the sole data point for these tings. They completely disregard all consoles and even other storefronts like the epic store, gog, etc. I miss when we used to just enjoy gaming and didn't make it all into some sort of pissing contest.

I agree wholeheartedly. Watering a game down to how many people are playing it disregards so many facets of a game. Like of course a game's playerbase will decay over time, it's only natural as things move along. That doesn't make the game any less cool than it was when it launched.
