I don't think the salute was on purpose.
I think he is evil for a whole lot of other reasons but the salute feels like a stretch.

There is no way this isn't a joke. At least I hope so.

As a DGG community member we don't condone that type of messaging and harassment. There are many who try to actively sabotage all new outreach, and I implore you to ignore the trolls.
You can negotiate whatever demands you feel like, and worst case they he just won't accept them.
