Whether or not it's happening really depends on your district, state and school board. This is why everyone needs to pay attention to who is sitting on the boards that approve curriculum. It's also why we all need to support the work of the NEA and ATA (teacher's unions).

I'm so glad I continue to get vaccines. Both COVID and flu were rampant in the school where I teach. Parents can't get time off, so the kids are sent to school while they are sick. Then the school staff catches everything.

My family tradition was that we all had to put our candy together and our mother divided it equally among the 4 of us. I have always been a "saver" so, I would eat 1 - 2 pieces a day until Christmas. My siblings' candy would be gone in a couple of weeks. I'm still smug about that.
