Next Sprint will begin at 10:40, so grab some coffee, and perhaps a snack (gotta pre-game for the big dinner ahead), and we will close this hour out. We got this. Optional prompt:

Time! I got lost in a passage that takes place in a bookstore! Post your current setting here and your WC! Next sprint will be at 10:15, and we will do 20 minutes. Prompt:

Sprint #1 of #3 complete! Grab some coffee, stretch your fingers, and get ready for our longest sprint of the morning, 10:20-10:45. Prompt (it is a good one):

Prompt #1...

I’m here today to get caught up - I’m behind, but it's not insurmountable. My memoir for my baby granddaughter is coming along, but w/o wordsprints I don’t think I’d get it done. 🏃🏻 What are you working on today?

Also - I came dressed for the occasion because today is a day to WRITE. 📝 #NaNoWriMo

Prompt for the final Sprint!

Sharing a prompt for this next 15 minute print. This is from a collection gifted to me by my dear friend Sara (who used to work at NaNoWriMo HQ way back in 2008).

Our Royal Themed Writing Sprints sort of reflect the NaNoWriMo process. 🤣

1st Denmark - Planned everything ahead of time. 🗓️

2nd Monaco - Plantsed, some planning, lot of day of ideas. 🪴

3rd UK - Pantsed it all as we were going along. 👖

For our royal theme today, we will be looking at the British Royals.

I hinted last week that the theme was also a reference to my story. I didn't intend this.... But I accidentally named my love interests: Anne & Mark.

It’s that time! ⏰ #wordsprints #NaNo2.0

Today's schedule: we’ll start at :05 for a 10-minute sprint; break for 5; write for 15, break for 5 & end w/a 20 minute sprint. ✍️

What’s your snackspiration? My daughter swears by M-n-Ms & pretzels (🙏 FB memories 🥰).

15 minutes till word sprint time! 📓

This morning my mug-spiration comes from Jesse, friend-since-kindergarten and hydrogeologist-turned-ceramicist. He reminds me that creativity makes the world a better place.

What inspires your NaNo project? For me it’s a memoir for my new granddaughter. 💕

I will be back on Saturday, Nov 22 at the same time (5-7 AM PST) for more royal-themed writing sprints.

We will be looking at the most well-known monarchy, the United Kingdom.

Our Easter Egg is a hint about next week's theme for our Royal Writing Sprints. And also a reference to my story.

Monaco may glitter, but books set there love disaster and mystery.... especially if you visit the district of Monte Carlo.

Monaco is one of the settings in Agatha Christie's Three Act Tragedy.

In Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, the narrator first meets Maximilian de Winter at a hotel in Monaco.

One of my favorite book series growing up was the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot.

Did you know the series used the Monaco royals as inspiration?

Genovia has many geographic and cultural similarities to Monaco. And in the story, the Renaldos seem to be a branch off of the House of Grimaldi.

Probably the most well-known Monaco royals in recent generations has been HSH Princess Grace.

She was born Gracy Kelly in Philadelphia, PA, USA. She was a successful Hollywood actress starring in many sucessful films. She gave up her career to marry HSH Prince Ranier of Monaco.

I am an avid royal watcher, so the theme of this morning's writing sprints are going to be the Monaco Royals.

It has been getting a little cold where I live, so I thought I would dream about being in the Riviera.

The photo shows Monaco's harbour & the "Rock of Monaco."

⏰ We are 15 minutes away from word sprint time!

It’s a rainy morning in my corner of the #NaNoWriMo world, so I’m warming up w/coffee in my @edutopia.org mug, plus oatmeal & blueberries (brain food, Mom says).

How are you getting ready to sprint words today? We’ll start in 15 minutes at 10:00am!
November 13, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Put 20 minutes on the clock.

Optional prompt: A bumpy landing.

Today's flight themed prompts were inspired by my flight yesterday. Which left on time (despite a small mechanical issue), arrived on time, & had a fun pilot.

Yes... It was a VERY smooth landing, but that's a boring story.

Time’s up! 🚦

How did it go? I’m finally catching up to where I [should have been yesterday] - I got 590 words that time. How about you?

Look away from your screen - give your eyeballs a break - & we’ll finish up w/a 20-minute sprint at 10:40. (Illustration from Public domain vectors on Unsplash)

Ready for a 15-minute word sprint? We'll write until 10:35. ⏰

Optional prompt: An anonymous note shows up in your main character’s jacket pocket and makes them cry. 😭 Who wrote it? What does it say? (thanks to Olga Thelavart on Unsplash for the pic)

And, GO!
November 11, 2025 at 6:20 PM
And let’s WRITE! GO for 10 minutes…

Don’t edit, don’t go backwards, just keep moving those words forward. See you at 10:15. (Thanks to Alexandra on Unsplash for the pic.)

Welcome to Word Sprint time! 🏃🏻

We’ll start at :05 w/a 10-minute sprint to warm up our fingers & brains.

Need a prompt? Try the fish-out-of-water scenario! Get your main character out of their comfort zone and watch the conflicts fly.
