I imagine Xavier is well-off, and really enjoys playing golf and other rich people passtimes. He's got a bit of a dad bod, but is nowhere as big as Boomer. He probably takes a little more care of himself and doesn't do much physical labor.

Back in June I made a Father's Day patreon poll asking which of my characters' dad I should draw, and the overwhelming winner is Miles' dad!

Following the other characters' naming scheme I figure he'd be called Xavier, given that Miles is a millennial that would make this guy a gen X-er (1/2)

You ponder your response for a few seconds, but can’t resist Charlie’s puppy eyes. For someone that hasn’t been half hyena for very long, he shows an impressive mastery over the look.

“That sounds like a great time, Charlie. I would not be opposed to maintaining our suppositional trysts purely physical ones.”

He responds with a big smile. “I don’t know what half those words mean, Taro, but happy to hear!”

Now more assured of himself, Charlie digs into the chicken’s breast. You take a few more bites out of your neglected omelette, and something the gnoll said starts tickling your interest, growing more curious with every bite.

“Say”, you ask, “you mentioned you have never been with other guys. Would you mind elaborating on that? You have no previous experience with men?”

Charlie blushes once again. “Well, Taro, I- to be honest with you, I have, uh…” He stops chewing and swallows. “I’ve never been with ANYONE, you see. I’ve never really had anyone fancy me, so I never gave much thought to the whole thing, you know? What I like and all. Now that I’m no longer a full-time druid apprentice I have a lot more alone time in the woods, been eating a lot of mushrooms and getting high and doing some thinking about this stuff. I know this is gonna sound weird, but, starting with guys makes more sense to me, you know what I mean?”

You gesture with your eyebrows that you’re listening, and let Charlie continue while you take another bite.

“Like, you’re already going out of the way to date a man, at that point does being stuck halfway through transforming into a hyena even matter? I don’t even know how I’d approach a girl looking like this. Does that make sense?”

“That would be sensible, yes”, you reply. “I can see how that would be counterintuitively unchallenging.”

“Yeah, yeah, what you just said!” Charlie exclaims, crunching on the chicken bones he had previously left aside, perhaps now feeling comfortable enough to do so. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m doing it just ‘cause it’s easier, I do feel everything a lot harder, even my… appetites”, he grins, using the most complicated word he’s used all evening to get on your level, “so I have an easier time knowing what I want.”

He extends his hand across the table.

“And I do want what’s in front of me, Taro. How would you-”

A loud, ringing noise jolts you both from your conversation. You turn around to see the bartender holding a bell and the leather bag.

“Gentlemen, your first round of dating is up” he says unenthusiastically. “Let’s see what we’ve got here, going to pull out our first pair for the following round…”

More serious answer, I didn't care much about having a fursona at first, I started doing rule 34 of football teams during the 2022 world cup and made Argentina a capybara. I figured I'd stick with it.

The comic's setting is influenced by my lived experience, and living in a country where 62% of the population is of italian descent I see that gesture all the time. See also, the characters' last names being mostly of spanish and italian origin (2/2)

Yep, I don't really have a nationality in mind for any of the characters and the comic isn't set anywhere, that ambiguity lets me pick and choose whatever elements from the different places I lived in facilitate the story the most. (1/2)
