The second flotilla is now in the ‘red zone’ where Israel has previously abducted flotillas and trafficked them onwards to false imprisonment. We’ll do all we can to reach Gaza, but if they stop us it will likely be within 24 hours. Track us here: thousandmadleens.fr/tracker

The second flotilla is very close to Gaza now, undeterred by anything we’ve heard about what the first went through. 11,000 Palestinians are still trapped in such prisons, including over 400 children, so turning back is not an option. Track us here: thousandmadleens.fr/tracker/

The first flotilla’s Irish participants have just been released from Israeli prison; they’re on their way home now. Meanwhile, we on the second flotilla are nearing Gaza. Keep speaking up for Palestine. We’re sailing not only for aid but for self-determination & we won’t stop until Palestine is free

The Mikeno boat at the front of Sumud flotilla has now reached Gaza’s territorial waters. It’s so close. I’m praying to every deity and secular source of hope that a single one of our boats gets through

Yahia Barzaq is the latest Palestinian journalist Israel has murdered in Gaza. Whatever propaganda moments they try to capture of the flotilla with cameras on — a jacket, a sandwich — remember that they kill reporters specifically to control the narrative

Sumud boats currently being intercepted by Israel, likely to illegally abduct and imprison those inside. I’m on one of the Thousand Madleens boats just behind. We need escalation from home to end the impunity with which this rogue state commits genocide and stifles opposition

Our Thousand Madleens boats continue just behind Sumud. The next few days will be a test of whether the world will finally end the same impunity that has let Israel butcher Palestinians for decades

After a month of setbacks and delays, I finally set sail for Gaza today with Thousand Madleens to break Israel’s illegal blockade, protest Western governments’ participation in the genocide and stand with Palestinians. I’m on the Milad, track us here: thousandmadleens.fr/tracker/

I say this as a flotilla participant: we cannot let drone attacks distract from the genocide. Israel has murdered at least 84 people in Gaza so far today, with the real number likely far higher. Governments need to sanction this rogue state, not just protect their own citizens

My boat in Tunisia got cancelled but I’m still sailing to Gaza from Italy next week. Viva Palestina 🇵🇸

They droned a second boat. We’re still going to Gaza. Pressure the Irish government any way you can to support the flotilla and sanction the country attacking us
naoisedolan.bsky.social
Our lead ship on the Global Sumud Flotilla was droned and caught fire. The six who were onboard are safe, and our mission will continue. They know international opinion is turning inexorably against them. Bombing peaceful humanitarians won’t exactly help that, but it’s the only response they’ve got.

A few hours after this went up, Israel announced that it had moved bond approval from Ireland to Luxembourg. We’ll take the win. But overall governmental complicity remains, and that’s why I and other EU citizens have been forced to sail for Gaza ourselves www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

My government pays lip service to Palestine but remains complicit. Like many Irish citizens, I refuse to, says author Naoise Dolan

🇵🇸| The sky above me today is a canopy of bleary grey, the air I'm breathing seems wan... It's hard to conceive that we can/do/shall continue to endeavour within this flimsy structure — in a vain effort of conjecture — that life has meaning at all. At least @naoisedolan.bsky.social 🗣️ like a real one⤵️
I have found Ireland a less hostile environment to protest in. But the necessity to protest at all comes from my government’s failure to respond on a policy level. There is the illusion of a debate among European countries: we’ve got Germany backing Israel, and countries such as Ireland and Spain (along with Norway) backing Palestine, so let’s see how they resolve it in the grand old marketplace of ideas. This fiction flatters all involved. The countries relatively critical of Israel evade scrutiny for still not having domestically sanctioned it; they’re pushing for this to happen at an EU level, after all. And Germany benefits from a conversation held on the premise that all EU countries maintain economic and diplomatic ties with Israel. Its critics’ authority in condemning the genocide is diluted by their failure to treat it in practice as one — Naoise Dolan (Excerpt from article)
