they don't invent anything themselves so when they see a more primitive type of weaponry that their creators never used anymore they're like "holy fuck how did they find the lost ancient technology..." it's like a guy with an iphone seeing a steam train and going THE POWER OF THE ANCIENTS?!

ok the way they portray the zentradi as not understanding the technology they use b/c their society is based on ancient computers and they're not supposed to ask questions is so fucking funny b/c they're honestly astonished by explosives like "how do they possess this technology"

since there's no corpses apparently though it might be that this is a weird case where these are essentially just like. robotic weapons platforms that seem unpressurized... or the zentr don't use explosives at this range and the drone's energy source/weaponry doesn't explode? hmm

...y'know, it's weird. i'm so used to the battleship style "enemy explosive hits us and we totally lose ship cohesion and explode" style of battle that i can't think of another time i've seen ship battles that are like. yeah you just get raked by tiny holes straight through

something i do find interesting in both voltes and macross is that earth is supposed to actually have some space defenses of its own other than the scavenged alien technology but it's so comically far below what the aliens use that it's almost a non-battle

once again, around about 10 pm at night, i become calm and a normal human being. this i think is part of the really crazy reactions i had earlier as well. when i start trying to get my sleep cycle under control, i don't have these periods of being the actual me in my life...

so it's kinda awk b/c i really SHOULDN'T be saying these things online. people with proper lives have ways to get these emotions dealt with otherwise. and nobody on here can do much abt 'em so it's silly to complain about 'em on here. so i can only hope i'll get somewhere with that

that's part of why it's always so damn embarrassing. like there's all these outgrowth symptoms of what i think is ultimately just a sort of pervading loneliness and lack of place. and i know probably there isn't any magic answer to those things but i know it's when i have it hardest
