Reana Ibrahim, 22, was driving a Mazda 3 in the wrong lane on Spring Street when she struck a Ford Bronco head-on. Her passenger, Jaiden Smith, 21, suffered critical injuries and later died on November 11, 2025. Toxicology tests revealed Ibrahim was inebriated at the time of the crash.

Pamela Cruz, 26, died after her Toyota Corolla was struck by a westbound, speeding Mercedes C300 while she was turning left onto Piccadilly Row. The impact pushed her car into a Nissan Altima. Both other drivers had non-life-threatening injuries. There was no evidence of impairment at the scene.

Anthony Barrett, 54, died after his Chevy Silverado left Lebanon Pike and struck two trees Sunday evening. He was taken to Vanderbilt, where he passed away. Investigators are awaiting toxicology results to determine if impairment played a role.

A pedestrian was killed by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-65 near Rosa L Parks Blvd around 2:30 a.m. The victim died at the scene; the highway was partially closed for investigation. We've been unable to determine the exact location of the crash and will update as more details are known.

Afriye Seegars, 23, was killed and a 24-year-old man critically injured while waiting for a rideshare outside Pecker’s Bar on Hermitage Ave. A speeding red/maroon car (possibly a Ford Mustang) struck them on the sidewalk around 1:30 a.m. Thursday and fled the scene.

A male pedestrian died after being struck early New Year's Day on Nolensville Pike near the I-440 East entrance. Found at 1:30 a.m. by another pedestrian, he was taken to Vanderbilt where he passed away. Police have no vehicle description yet and the victim remains unidentified.

An eastbound driver struck and killed a pedestrian crossing at 197 Haywood Lane. This is the third pedestrian fatality on Haywood Lane in 2025.

A 20-year-old Nashville woman died Friday after being struck by two cars on Bell Road. She was hit by the driver of a northbound Nissan Versa who was turning left onto Rice Road, throwing her into traffic where a second car struck her. Both drivers stayed and no impairment was found.

What is the point of publicizing Vision Zero goals if we are just going to ignore such glaring deficiencies and this many recorded serious crashes?

This is all despite there being several pedestrian generating stores and restaurants less than a block to the east of this location. It's now been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the city cannot reasonably expect there to be zero people walking in this area.
