Trump, Vance, and Hegseth blamed yesterday’s American Airlines crash on DEI in air traffic control—without evidence. Their claims are racist, abhorrent, and malicious. DEI is an initiative aimed at fostering cultural understanding in workplaces, not a hiring or qualification mechanism.
DEI’s an initiative designed to help businesses and employees understand each others cultures. It is not intended to be used for hiring employees or as a qualification mechanism. DEI: Diversity (noun): The condition of having or being composed of differing elements. Equity (noun): Fairness or justice in the way people are treated. Inclusion (noun): The act of including; the state of being included. Notice that none of these words and their definitions, different elements, fairness, and being included, mention meritocracy, experience, or qualifications.
