this one has some light platforming, but chicory: a colorful tale is a fun one! the creative process/art block are main themes explored, and you get to color in each frame that you walk into (with the controls or your fingers) until the whole map is filled with color :0

if you're still taking recs, I recommend opus: echo of starsong! it's a visual novel set in deep space with ambient sound-related puzzles! one of the protags has a similar premise to hikari - an exiled noble trying to redeem his clan :0 it was an emotional game for me!

spiritfarer is fantastic! it's one of those games I think about years after finishing it, and a tearjerker for sure ;-; some parts in the story may be emotionally heavy, depending on how you process grief though
