the thing everyone is going to have to accept is that the post-trump period, whenever it comes, will not and cannot be a project of national unity, it must be a project of partisan project of renewal, in the same way that reconstruction and the new deal were partisan projects of renewal.

I think it’s mostly about the opportunity cost - keeping him probably blocks a move for Eve or Rodrygo so I am fine with a fee around 10-12 million (double if it’s a premier league team - I’d certainly be trying to convince West Ham to make a bid).

Hard to tease out team style effects since Brentford don’t play in the midfield. I think this is basically a fine deal - he should be able to take dead minutes, knows the league and will be happy in his role.
