You'd love to work with them but the reality is those types of studios are built over time. 1/1000 attempts might get you a magic team that just meshes perfectly together but those are harsh odds.

If the current entire team has not shipped a game together, you're taking on a risk and the budget/scope should be lower than if you are looking to fund their 3rd game where a lot of opportunity lies.

Thank you thank you. It's good to know how to make a more traditional onboarding experience before you go and break the "rules." Some games are intentionally difficult or convoluted. Some developers just naturally get it and skip to the pattern breaking experiences.
