They absolutely suck. My regular Xbox controllers have lasted longer than my elite. The bumpers were designed to fail.

Go into settings > remote play > enable remote play for both devices. You might need to do some first time pairing. Also if your GPU is AMD you might want to turn off hardware encoding in the advanced host settings.

If you leave your gaming PC on at home streaming it to your deck works pretty well. I've been doing that with Helldivers.
