IRL, they are such graceful birds. Their courtship dances are lovely. Always reminds me of the Aussie Xmas Carol, 'Orana'/ 'Carol of the Birds' -
'Out on the plains the brolgas are dancing
Lifting their feet like warhorses prancing...'

Marvellous! They're elusive little birds, often heard but not seen. I had my own very close encounter 2 weeks ago. I was looking out my bedroom window, face pressed to the flyscreen, and (lo!) a whipbird flew to the window frame outside looking for spiders. Eyeballed each other from 2 inches away!🥰
