Climate change causes migration, the saying goes. Well, it's not that simple. In a new @brisunipress.bsky.social book on climate change, mobility, adaptation and governance, we examine how these - sometimes quite complicated - links play out in Ghana and Ethiopia. Open access!

Yesterday I was part of the book launch for Hugo Slim's new book 'Humanitarianism 2.0' - a very thought-provoking and inspiring book. It argues that humanitarianism and the environmental agendas must be merged to protect all life.

Thanks to Care DK and Red Cross DK for the invitation.

W. inspiration from Haraway and Heidegger, we suggest the concept of *situated polycrises*. This helps throwing light on the interconnectedness and situatedness of crises from different positions and perspectives from below and in contexts where emergencies are recurrent, rather than exceptions. 👇

The paper is an output from the Diaspora Humanitarianism in Complex Crises (D-Hum) research project. We interviewed Somali key persons in 14 locations in East Africa and in Western countries and also draw on observations from the beginning of the pandemic. 👇

New Year, new paper! 😎🤓 Co-authored #OpenAccess paper in the journal of International Affairs, focusing on Somali perceptions of and responses to COVID-19. We show that while the pandemic was relativized, drought constitutes a crisis baseline.
