Still the same guy who curates and programs films while sipping coffee in the morning.
Just made a playlist for an hour of leisure walk, the kind of playlist one can only make on a cloudy Sunday afternoon.

This year, I watched more than 750 feature length films, and more than 650 short films. How to choose a few favourites among those? I choose the ones that are close to my heart the most, the ones I still remember fondly months after the first viewings, and the ones I cannot stop recommending them.

Decided to watch different kind of Christmas-themed films today, all found on the Criterion Channel:

• Mon Oncle Antoine (1971)
• Baba Amin* (1950)
• Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983)

*not exactly a Christmas film, but the plot borrows heavily from It’s a Wonderful Life.

Sunday in Tallinn.
Here for the Tallinn Black Night Film Festival. The selection, as always, is vast and encompasses almost all genres from big fests of the previous months. The actual films, particularly in the competitive programs, continue to surprise me, both in good and bad ways.

Just signed up for Blue Sky (BlueSky?) on a Sunday morning. I can only think of Nat "King" Cole's That Sunday, That Summer song to mark the occasion, although it's not summer here.
