Good news – the R147 Martha’s Bridge to Circular Road Scheme is due to commence construction in Q3 2025. The final design is now complete and the tender process will begin in Q2.

Located on the main road into Navan, this is seen as the flagship scheme of the #NavanCycleNetwork

We are delighted to support #Love30 who are calling on the Oireachtas and every Local Authority to make 30 km/h the default speed limit in built-up areas, but particularly in town centres, residential estates, and in the vicinity of schools and places of public assembly.

Minister Canny’s U-turn on safer urban speeds risks lives and life-changing injuries. It cannot be let stand.

We were proud to visit the Dáil today at the invitation of Ciaran Ahern TD
to send the Minister our simple message: No delays. No excuses. Implement the law now.

Very strange to see these new road yield markings on Old Cornmarket, Navan. Are these really needed on a pedestrianised street? The montage image below shows what was proposed for here, and these markings seem completely over the top and unnecessary.

A reminder that this rally is happening this coming Thursday 2nd Oct.

Please support it if you can by joining us on the day or contact your local TDs & ask them to attend the Love 30 presentation in the AV room.

This effects rural Ireland as much as it does our larger towns and cities.

Ciarán Ferrie calls out the government for its inaction on implementing speed limit reform in today's @irishexaminer.bsky.social

One in every three road deaths this year has been a person walking, cycling, or scooting.

Half of those killed were over the age of 60.

Four were children.

Yes, vehicle access is needed to a private car park at end, but rarely used. Likewise, there is a new loading bay marked out, but deliveries generally happen early in the day, so it's unclear who they are meant to be yielding to. It's disappointing to see motordom persists even in pedestrian zones.

New ‘Blackwater River, Navan Town Park Bridge & Cycleway’ unveiled. This will make it much more easier for pedestrians and cyclists to access Blackwater Park, coming from the town centre. It will also help to reduce vehicular congestion, as well as provide another link to the #BVLGreenway

That’s 3 cyclists dead in one week. 😲😔

And our government continues to roll back on meaningful road safety measures like implementing a 30kph limit in urban zones, or using technology, all because it might upset some drivers. It’s a national disgrace.

This is so tragic - a third cyclist killed in just one week. My heart goes out to all the families.

I've basically stopped cycling, one of my favourite things to do, because the roads are literally lethal.

Yet another tragic and shocking road fatality involving a man cycling and a driver of a car who failed to remain at the scene. RIP, our condolences to this man's family.

That is two cyclists killed on Irish roads over the weekend. This cannot continue.

We were just looking at plans for a LIDL development extension in Navan (which currently has terrible bike parking). Includes 8 covered bike spaces + 2 other non-covered racks near the two entrances. Seems quite good (if approved).
