Though the caveat to that is that persistent exposure to a particular window on to the world does risk shaping one's sense of what falls within a sort of "personal Overton window" of acceptable views. Look at what happens to folks on Twitter who start to flirt with "race realism" etc.

Still, I suppose it’s interesting that one of the best things about this winter has been long walks in the snow and sun, most of which has been undocumented save a pic or two to family.

I’m not even sure I mean this cynically. One needs forward momentum in life and I’m skeptical of the idea that the need that inspires that movement forward is, in some simplistic binary sense, “intrinsic.”

As a corollary, it's amazing how much convincing it takes to get myself to watch a movie I want to watch... To force myself to sit down and pay attention to something for 2 hours? It's like every other thing in my life has to be sorted - meals made, laundry done, calls made, things tidied etc etc

Yeah, I've done it a few times, sometimes for a month or two at a time. Sometimes it's amazing... others not so much
