Done a crazy amount of color correction to make the yellow and purple shading look good together and the camera can't even bother to capture it right 😮💨
Still needs more adjustments though, as do the other parts. I may perish before I see these guys complete

I'd planned to do a tinted solid base with a diluted clear color before highlighting up to white
What actually happened is I over thinned this ~1:8 mixture (GSI previous blue) and actually ended up with a lovely subtle cast

Now that the fam is mostly gone and I'm no longer stuck sleeping in my storage room I can finally begin painting my next project!

Cracked open a kit to do in my downtime (it will not be my next project; I have 2-3 that are much further along)
The casting is...not the worst but not the best. But the weirdest thing by far is that the shoes are different sizes. Not obvious when posed but super obvious side-by-side

After airbrushing the primer and metallics I did all the other stuff by hand. It was surprisingly fun and low stress (knocked it out in like 3 hrs), def more open to minis etc now

Tfw u open a new kit & need replacement parts so u resign urself to writing an email in a language ure only half schooled in only to realize the instructions were MTL'd so u instead opt to dig deep into ur brain for ur mother tongue (that u are illiterate in) instead of asking your parents for help

Got around to ordering the base (I hate dealing with bases) and did a test placement
I think I'll have to heat bend all the tassels in and clean up a few more spots but I'm getting veeeery close

I restarted work on that missing piece cause the old one was too small. Got it shaped nicely but the inscribed lines were giving me one hell of a cramp so I'm calling it a day

Time for a painting break. I've been using up my evenings and weekends cause I can't paint during work hours but that means I've been letting everything else in my life molder. Gotta do some housekeeping before I paint next.

In today's episode of Pinning Hell© I got the arms fixed
This kit has a lot of long skinny keys and these needed a pin replacement
Left arm was a classic cut-and-drill but right arm's key was a bit bigger so I left a stub to keep it angled right. Looks a bit better too methinks

Not all pieces I've worked on are pictured but I've got about 57/105 pinned and/or sanded. The seam lines are hard to spot and some aren't worth attacking so I'm thinking I'll just prime and sand in batches

Inspecting a half-decent face for flaws is fun cause I also get to enjoy how cute it is instead of fixating on stuff that went wrong 🥰

I started putting proper work into assembling this one. I'm not painting it (thank god) but it's about 100 pieces and I worry for my sanity
Also I received the wrong piece (2 copies of the mirrored one) and I decided to try and resculpt it. We'll see how it goes
