Why, when you take DEI away, do we get the most mediocre white folks in place. There are smarter, more experienced legitimate white journalists than Weiss or Dokoupil, more experienced people who could be secretaries of defense, HHS, homeland security. Why are all the people so mediocre?

Probably no. Neither has Tony Dokoupil. If any, it's been very few. Rolodexes are not big enough to have sources to break big stories. I digress. Average person doesn't know Weiss. These folk get the benefit of DEI which they probably oppose. CBS is not what it used to be.

I bet light-weight journalist never-broke as serious news story now evening anchor Tony Dokoupil is OK with everything. He doesn't think MAGA has enough representation in media. Let's get Dan Rather back. He's a real journalist.

Saw it. Would never repost it, but it's believable. I heard rumors decades ago about Prince Andrew, R. Kelly and Bill Cosby, well before their sh!t hit the fan. All rumors are not true, but many that persist with similar details tend to have more elements of truth than not.

The questions should have been, "How is not releasing all of the files in the spirit of the law?" & "Why is DOJ trying to protect Trump in making redactions?" & "Who enforces the law when DOJ is breaking it?

So well said. This why pundits have become repulsive. Why are we debating or discussing ANYTHING Trump or his crazy cabinet does like it might make sense. Why are we being held hostage, John Roberts, by this insanity?

When Clinton said a "vast right wing conspiracy" she was right. Information is so twisted & swift boated by Repubs, many accept the idea Dems are causing this & spend more time critiquing the left than fighting in-your-face fascism & criminality. We need to leave them in the wilderness & resist.

What's scary is that these people have so much hubris that they've been in-your-face defying the law. Why would Bondi & Blanche allow their reputations to be so sullied? Do they think the Third Reich will rule forever?

You're going too far with this. Just go ahead and be mad at the defund the police people. Not worth the argument. I live in an area where we would hope the police would come if we called. Still defund the police does not scare me and "I" didn't say it, but not afraid to discuss, even now.

Actually defunding the police got little traction in municipalities. But the term gave conservatives talking points, if that's what you mean. It's in Republican DNA to "swiftboat." And we've learned to acquiesce. We move to the center rather than have the courage to continue the conversation.

You, meaning me? I never advocated defund the police. I'm a lowly, regular person. I'm not afraid to talk about it & it's worth discussing IMO. As liberals, sometimes WE allow the right to dominate the narrative based on fear. American is fertile ground for fear & gives a weak excuse to dominate

It was bounced around some by progressives, but it was abused & exaggerated by conservatives who took it and ran with it. IMO exploiting the discussion about George Floyd was their way to retaliate. The guilt of the knee on the neck was too much truth, so perverting the idea was a distraction.

It goes back further than "defund the police." Many police officers & military have long been conservatives & or Repubs. They bought the Repub law & order mantra & figure Repubs will protect them, even when they're wrong. They discount the cognitive dissonance of things like Jan. 6
