Reading about the blowing up the cliff face at Seaford Head, Sept 1850, to create a barrier to stop longshore drift taking shingle from Newhaven and Seaford. Editor didn't think it would be effective. He was right. Now, the old Roman remains are being lost to the sea. #CoastalHistory
