"It is difficult with these evil folk to know when they are in league, and when they are cheating one another."

Aragorn, son of Arathorn, "The Two Towers," J.R.R. Tolkien.
Does anybody know who still makes smelling salts? Just feel like it's a good time to buy stock in them.

In 2026, their role is to serve the interests of the oligarchs who own or control their outlet and, more broadly, the interests of whichever of the oligarchist billionaire cliques he's part of.

I'm thinking about these guys, actually. Though I had forgotten they were shot rather than hanged.

It's like that time in 67 A.D. when Nero competed in the Olympics and, in an historic display of athletic prowess, won every event.

"Engulf & Devour," The evil conglomerate in Mel Brooks "Silent Movie," had a logo a lot like that.

It's so weird how Magic Free Market Pixie Dust is the answer to everything except private monopolies.

At least they don't bother to use the Originalist Pretext Generator on the shadow docket.

Subtype SS mentality. It's 100% consistent throughout his public life. He never saw a problem he didn't think could be solved by killing people and thinks "war crime" is just a propaganda phrase you use to describe what designated enemies did. All to mask what a chickenshit little bitch he is.

Honestly, when it comes to these guys I am positively, even zealously, libertarian in my belief in their absolute entitlement to do things that increase their morbidity risk, whether individually or as a class, as long as no one else is harmed.

But at least we're past the horrors of the licorice and cilantro crazes that were just thinly veiled elite chef sadism inflicted on ten or fifteen percent genetically predisposed to be disgusted by their flavors.

Yeah, their Army is barely a brigade. Their air force has no jet combat aircraft. Zero capability to even detect something like a drone attack.

Ireland isn't in NATO. It is a neutral. Like Switzerland and Austria except without even the pretense of a real military or citizen militia system.

That holds true across most democracies. The research suggests a quarter to third of people in states that do not consciously foster authoritarianism are, by whatever combination of genes, environment and experience, just wired for authoritarianism. Most move right, a few go very far left.

I haven't seen any data referenced in this report that are inconsistent with that hypothesis.

No one can believe a word of anything said by lawyers who think lying to a judge's face in open court and in writing is a power play rather than, you know, a thing that will get them fired, disbarred and possibly imprisoned.
December 4, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Actually, it's it's own federal crime. One of the ones punishable by 20 to life in prison or death.
