It looks a bit like old school MS Word, but all the functionality is there. And honestly, MS Office hasn't really innovated or improved in the last 25 years.

I use it for all of my edits with all the editors I have ever worked with. You can track edits (even with multiple people), comment, etc. I have never encountered any problems.
It does all the formats (doc, docx, odt, rtf, txt). And once you have set up some templates, it's mostly set & forget.

Nobody can get around those tech giants completely, but I try to be mindful and spread things around. Libre Office for all of my writing and spreadsheet needs. Thunderbird and my own mail server for correspondence. Files saved locally. There are still ways to streamline and automate workflows.

I love a good Mourvedre!!! 😍🍷
(I'm a wine amateur, but I'm pretty good at drinking it). 🤣

Living in SoCal, I have access to great local wine. But lately I enjoy Spanish wines a lot. Particularly grenache and tempranillo varietals (and blends of the two). They are reasonably priced, not pretentious, and tasty.
Also, I have a story about wine ponces in the upcoming foofaraw Anthology! 🤣😉

I don't have any first hand experience with this, but putting all that personal data that is contained in the contracts (names, addresses, PayPal, etc) into their hands, where it might get fed into the AI or other nefarious applications does give me pause...

Napa cabs (and other varietals) are great, but don't ignore the central coast. Paso Robles has some great wines, too!
(And the Temecula appellation produces some fine Rhone Valley type wine).

I noticed. 🤣
I moved close to the ocean a few years back and found out that I'm more of an inland person. 😳

That's a lot of fish!!! 😯

Wow! It doesn't get fresher than that!!!
I'm a bit of a landlubber, so it's supermarket sushi for me... 😭
(J/k there are some amazing sushi places around).

How's the sushi down-under?! 😯
February 4, 2026 at 1:48 AM
That's a valid point! 🤘😉🤘

Honestly, she should be using a glass. There have to be some standards!!! 🤣

Did she bring her own bottle opener? (Making it premeditated). Screw-top? Corkscrew borrowed from the household aisle?
There are so many unanswered questions!
(Also, a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc goes very well with sushi).
