We've started monitoring birdsong in Ilfracombe using acoustic sensors and AI to build a picture of local biodiversity and track changes through the seasons.

These early results from October show which species were most vocal.

Last week, members of our Biosphere Communities team joined the Climate Action Fund Festival in Birmingham—a day of inspiration and discussion.

It was good to meet so many people from other projects around the country with similar aims, ideals, and challenges, and learn about helpful new practices.

As part of the Smart Biosphere, dozens of water quality sensors are hard at work in rivers and streams across the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere. These sensors provide real-time data on water health, helping us monitor pollution, track changes, and support nature recovery and climate resilience.

It's been brilliant chatting to people in Barnstaple Library over the last few weeks and learning about the joy and hope that have been connected with the #MyBiosphere Photo Competition.
