I’d put money on the fact he had no idea Charles is also the King of Canada. To be fair, neither does anyone at CNN based on their coverage of King Charles’s Speech from the Throne today in Canada. And you figure they have some researchers/reporters who could help em figure it out.

I had the exact same thought except, thankfully, didn’t have to think of him as my president cause I’m Canadian and he, and indeed no US President, will NEVER be out President. And thank god for that.

It’s not only the gold elements but also the kinda over the top nature of the decorations. Why have one portrait of a dead President when you can have all of em?

Totally true along with a big side of classism (and sexism, ableism and heteronormativity for that matter). I’ve known a number of white guys folks would call the epitome of professionalism who give off racist, sexist and homophobic whistles so loud not only dogs hear em. Question professionalism.
