And it’s a misleading oversimplification to say that “the corpus linguistics thing” is about textualism.

That’s certainly not true in my case, and I doubt it’s true in Stephen’s case, or in the case of the linguists who’ve been involved in the L&CL, or interested observers.

I was there recently for a long weekend.
