Gig #38 was also a long time ago, and in the UK, Kylesa (3) at The Underworld in London, reformed and in form, glad I stuck around for a few extra days to catch them (and 3IoB).

So gig #37 of the year was the day after gig #36, over a month ago, 3 Inches Of Blood (5) in The Asyium in Birmingham, brilliant show, surprised I had not been to a show here before.
September 26, 2025 at 11:37 AM
Well I was in the UK, it would have been rude to just fly home so stuck around for gig #36 of 2025, 3 Inches Of Blood (4) in The Bread Shed in Manchester, great wee venue and amazing show.

Almost a week and a half ago but gig #35 of 2025 The Smashing Pumpkins (5) at Gunnersbury Park in London with support from Skunk Anansie (10), very much a trip down memory lane, great show from both bands.

Gig #34 of 2025, The Boomtown Rats supported by The Undertones at Swords Castle (yes really), great set from a trailblazing band in a lovely outdoor venue (though they could dump some of the new tracks)
July 29, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Gig #33 of 2025, the (frankly) transcendental Nine Inch Nails (13) at the Bercy Arena in Paris, stunning show and I got right down the front in between the two stages (much closer to the main stage), this time they played The Perfect Drug so I'm happy
July 9, 2025 at 3:19 PM
Gig #33 of 2025, Wild Rocket (2) at Anseo supported by Burning Realm (1) and Phil Langero (1), I love a wee on-the-floor show and enjoyed all three acts, a great Friday night.
July 6, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Gig #32 of 2025, Deftones (7) in Crystal Palace Park, London. Another big show in a field but amazing setlist and stunning show, they're a great band, glad I made the trip over.
July 2, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Gig #31 of 2025, Iron Maiden (27) at Malahide Castle, it's actually been a while since I saw Maiden (seven years 🫣) as I skipped the last tour (or two?) but this was a great set, wall to wall classics, hope I can catch them somewhere smaller/indoors soon (maybe some shows in the O2 in London?)
June 29, 2025 at 10:32 AM
Gig #30 of 2025, Run To The Beast (1), an Iron Maiden cover band playing Lost Lane, rebranded as "Eddie's Dive Bar" for two days as part of Maiden's show at Malahide Castle (see next post), great gig, great setlist, will be seeing them again.
June 28, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Gig #29 of 2025, Black Flag (1) at Opium in Dublin, a version of the band, playing two decent length sets with all the songs you'd want/expect, only Greg left from original lineup, rest of the band did a good job, would probably go see them again...
June 27, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Gig #28 of 2025, Kim Deal (1) at Vicar Street, this was almost two weeks ago 🫣, great gig from a legend in my favorite venue (and I've been to a few 🤣). She played her new album in full as well as songs from The Pixies, The Breeders and The Beatles. Would recommend catching her live!

Gig #27 of 2025 Nine Inch Nails (12) at the 3arena last Sunday, blindingly good gig, great setlist including Parasite by HTDA and I'm Afraid Of Americans by David Bowie, looking forward to the Paris show
June 19, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Gig #26 of 2025, this one is slightly further afield, Jhen Yue Tang (1) at LIVE Warehouse in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, with support from Sunset Samurai (1). This was a fun local gig we just found online, really enjoyed both bands, and picked up a CD from each.
June 8, 2025 at 3:06 PM
That gig #25 was also Supergrass (8) at The Olympia the next night, this time I brought Sarah.
June 1, 2025 at 10:32 AM
Gig #24 of the year, Supergrass (7) at The Olympia in Dublin, part of the I Should Coco 30th Anniversary tour, so they played that album in full and finished with a few other tunes, great show, so good even that...
June 1, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Gig #23 of 2025, a Saturday night gig in Anseo with Chimers (1), Hubert Selby Junior Infants (2) and Soft On Crime (2), tiny, on the floor show, nice evening and great sets from all three bands.
May 19, 2025 at 8:50 AM
Gig #22 of 2025, Gama Bomb (1) at The Grand Social, never really been into these guys, they started getting attention after I'd left for London, Friday's gig though was great craic, amazing live band, will definitely be catching them again
May 17, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Gig #21 of 2025, Conjurer (5) at The Academy here in Dublin, they were supporting Make Them Suffer but did not stick around for them. Conjurer were great, hopefully we'll see a headline show here at some stage.
May 16, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Gig #20 of 2025 Wild Rocket (1), Ubu Imperator (1) and Unbelievable Lake (1) at Bello Bar, I hate late finishes (it was almost midnight when I left) but it was a great gig and all three bands were on form, Ubu Imperator in particular were impressive
May 10, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Gig #19 of 2025, And So I Watch You From Afar(22) supported by Maybeshewill(23) in Brighton, two of my favorite bands on one bill in Brighton? Had to make the trip, amazing sets from both bands, the support, Ġenn, were pretty good too. Got ASIWYFA to sign my poster from the Bangor gig last year too.

I genuinely love that #TheLightHouseCinema is doing a #Muppet movie marathon but it is missing The Great Muppet Caper, an objectively better film than ... Take Manhattan and ... From Space. I'd prefer they skip the 2011 film and keep to the "early" movies.

Gig #18 of the year Mastiff(4) and Uncultivates(1) at Fibbers (upstairs this time). Storming sets from the two bands and it was free! However it went on till 01:30 😭, I'll not be doing that again. Did pick up the Mastiff album on CD as well.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
Gig #17 of 2025, Carpark Sci-Fi (2) at The Woodstack Cafe in Monasterevin last Sunday, nice little afternoon show in the countryside and picked up the album and EP on CD
