Relevant article just published from NOTUS outlining the straight. Again credit to Rep McBride. I don't like the fact she plays the game like a consummate politician...but at least she's a good at it.

Everything is horrible, and the budget bill will hurt a lot of people. Idk. As someone who is high information bc ✨ anxiety ✨ when I see folks feeding into misinformation it causes ME to panic...which isn't good for my own mental health. Maybe I should just stay off social media. (3/3)

We're all scared, and I am too. I think reflexively posting information causing any panic doesn't help us much. I've typically relied on sources that I know I can cross check, and in this instance, got up to speed on the reconciliation process for the budget bill.

The house did not amend what the Senate sent back to them. So I'm fairly certain the gender affirming care ban was ultimately omitted from the bill.

Trans stuff aside, the GOP backed themselves into a corner. Passing it by the 4th makes them accountable to all the bad stuff in the bill, maybe affecting their midterm chances. Drawing it out longer may increase the odds of it not passing. They made their own mess. We're just the collateral damage.

Yeahhhhh there's a bunch of mixed messaging here. I think he's angry that the Senate made his life harder (lol) and that his caucus is mildly raucous. I think it's a coin flip tbh. He's a Trump yes man. And the Rs always gets in line. It feels like they want a short term win. It's hard to say atm!

Feels like MTG is teeing it up as a just in case thing. If it starts looking like the bill will go back to Senate, it'll probably get added back in. And then the Byrd bath happens again (I think, not necessarily an expert).

The Rs need to decide to swallow their pride and pass it, or drag it out.

I'm betting that it's mostly theatrics and scoring political points. We won't know until the bill advances out of the rules committee.

Rs don't want to displease dear leader, when he says jump, they jump. He's reiterated he'd prefer to pass it by July 4th. And Senate is not in session till Mon.

Credit where credit is due. I also have mixed feelings about her. She represents the moderate faction of Dem politics, sticking to respectability, but working behind the scenes to not bring visibility to any identity politics. I fundamentally disagree with that approach but it is what it is.
