I will not financially support any company who puts their users in danger and pretends that it protects children to do so.

Please walk this back before you put young lives in danger.

Despite this, many adults go out of their way to try and protect kids by tagging their content appropriately and banning kids from adult spaces. The adults in these communities will not be able to do this when they lose access to communities due to this poorly-thought-out verification change.

Parents should be the ones responsible for their children, not the communities.
It is child neglect and endangerment for them to allow their children to have unsupervised access to the internet.

and causes them to post their content on more public or open platforms, such as Twitter, where children can find the content easier. Safe spaces for adult content helps protect kids from said content by keeping it into easily managed groups where people can work together to keep children out.

It actively forces children to seek out far more dangerous approaches to finding content they are curious about.

When platforms enforce dangerous things like this type of verification, it forces those creators out of the safe spaces, it forces those creators out of the safe spaces,

-predators that will offer to "help" children bypass such mechanisms. This has happened with many websites, and curious children will be even more likely to fall into such manipulations. It encourages children to seek out predators.

Secondly, this verification style puts children in danger by giving them easily-bypassed 'verification' that offers no protection, allows them to create mature content caves for echo chambers, account sharing and selling, and breeding grounds for predators-

Sharing identification online is not and will never be safe or appropriate for anyone of any age, and is not material that is appropriate for you to ask for if you are not paying the people who's identification you are scanning, regardless of whether or not you store any of it.

This includes children, and keeping them safe by allowing them into appropriate communities and banning them from inappropriate ones.

First, facial and ID verification styles place adults in danger. Even outside of the leak your company already had, adults deserve and need safe spaces to create and share content. Adults need to be able to moderate content, regardless of the type of the content, to protect users around them.

Obviously it's best to write one's own, since copypastas don't get taken seriously, but if you want to use pieces of what I put, here's the thing:

It has come to my attention that the Face / ID Verification is being rolled out globally, putting all users in danger, especially children.

-access. I don't want anyone grabbing subs specifically for access to something that they might not be able to get access to regardless.

I wish subscribestar adult had a lifetime access thing I could give to people with access cards, or a yearly sub for small creators so I could make it cheap.

-for the 18+ channel access cards, as depending on what happens next month, they could all be deleted. I'm looking into Discord alternatives, but they likely won't have the same level of integration with Twitch.

You can still subscribe to my Twitch channel for Twitch reasons, just not for discord-

I made my discord server because I was sick of the 14-year-olds I was blocking everyday before I nuked my twitter. My discord server is a safe space where I can post without worrying about kids. If they don't walk this back, this'll be the what... 8th site I got forced out of?

Damn, man. Damn.

It was supposed to be the parent's responsibility, too, yet so many artists did their part with tags, warnings, etc because we cared and respected others and their safety.

There goes that. Not even allowed to try.
February 9, 2026 at 11:03 PM
Kids will end up seeing it, but every time a platform annihilates adult spaces like this, they make it harder on artists to bother trying to gate it.
February 9, 2026 at 11:03 PM
Yeah I'll be cancelling shortly, too.

Discord was one of the ways I was able to keep my content away from kids, but now they're making it so I won't be able to safely share my content with adults... so, what's the point in it anymore?

Just... post everything publicly, I guess.
