NO Maga, Trumpists, Right-wingers, Bigots, Frauds, Scammers, Fascists, Crypto, Hookups, or Catfishers allowed.
I actually don't mind. So long as the spiciness isn't ridiculous or creepy & unintentionally & borderline rapey/abusive, like 50 Shades or 365 Days. I like it healthy, safe, sane, & consenting.

In The Wild Family, neurodivergent Bethany is expected to act and be normal, which she tries but fails.
In The Nequinum Gests, the child protags are expected to live up to their uncaring parents/guardians' expectations.

Bethany would want to be known for her books & stories. Her otherworldly experience & childhood imagination are her great inspirations.
And also for her social justice activism.

My favorite trope?
The rise and fall of a corrupt, wealthy family.

Since Bethany (the MC) is partly a self-insert, she shares some of my traits.... such as my autism, tics, love of fantasy & myths, bullied school days, & childhood fears of growing up.

Before her character growth, Bethany may have loved romances in stories, but she feared it herself because it involved growing up, which she detested. As she grew, she believed, not in soulmates, but in "love of your life"

There is a little romance in my wip but its a minor background subplot. Bethany had a poly crush on two of her childhood crushes, & when she meets them again in adulthood, they still have feelings for her & she falls in love with them.

Bethany's recurring habit is tapping her fingernails on flat wooden surfaces (walls, desks, tables). Its one of her autistic tics.

A lot has changed with my WIP. When I first conceived it, the story was generic, the characters flat & robotic, and the worldbuilding was shallow at best. It took me a decade, at least, to make it better than it was originally.

Bethany's most cherished memories (looking back as an old woman) is reuniting with her family, sweethearts, and friends. And returning to Otherworld as much as she wants.

Not exactly animals, but Fae folk in animal disguise. The antagonists disguise themselves as a black cat & a raven when first stalking the Heroine.

The MC, Bethany, wears an ordinary sailor dress that, when in Otherworld, is enchanted to reflect her literal & metaphorical growth. Changing colors from white, to red, to black.

My inspiration comes from media that exists before & today, from dreams, real life, current or past events, from what-if ideas, from people I know in life or read about, & from other authors.

At the beginning, in her small Wisconsin town, Bethany hides her fear from them. Fear that they could be right about her that she's "unnatural". And fear that they may be right that she'll end up in an asylum (she's an autistic child in the 1920s)

At the start, Bethany looked up to & idolized famous stars Orpah Turning & Felix Fleming (who are truly her birth parents). But as the story progresses, Beth discards as they turn out to be awful people (pro Eugenics & Nazi sympathies)

One of the Fae companions in The Wild Family is Dot, a Korred (stone fairy), her weakness is that she can't use her powers if she's suspended in mid air. She has to be contact with the earth to work her power.

If the spoon is a long wooden one, then definitely the spoon. Bethany would be good at whacking people with sticks and other wooden objects.
