Tried out Starfield because it’s on Game Pass and the game’s opening is so bad - the people who made this thing have no respect for the millions of human beings who will end up playing it - should be banned

Why did AI take so long to get going? Well, I upgraded the GPUs in our cluster last week and today I discovered that Nvidia added a super cool new feature that speeds things up by reducing precision “safely” and enabled it by default, ruining a week of data

The machine learning people would have you believe that all of computer science (and human activity) will collapse into doing two things: creating embeddings for physical and virtual phenomena, and creating applications that encode and decode those embeddings from sensors and things.

Imagine walking down the street and seeing a weird guy. Now imagine you can just pull out your phone and capture a 3d model of that guy and have him run around and meet the other weird guys on your phone.
