To lower bills, cut utility profits, not solar. A state study shows $1.42 in benefits for every dollar spent on solar. Another analysis shows utility bills rising due to wholesale power costs, largely due to natural gas dependency. Maine's investor-owned utilities have a 9.35% rate of return.

A new nationwide analysis of economic impact reports from across the country finds that a typical 5-megawatt community solar project—the average and most efficient size—generates $14 million in local economic activity and supports nearly 100 jobs.

Great news for Maryland! 👏

The Maryland General Assembly 2025 session ended last night, and they passed an encouraging energy bill. The bill makes solar farm placement easier, and after many years, removes trash incineration from the Renewable portfolio Standard.
