I'm just trying to do music, mate. Alt rock type stuff mostly, but then I take loops of my songs and make them into hip-hop tracks to rap over as Dig Xaz.

I am also in VIBE and The Madonna and the Whore.

From Rotherham, S Yorks. Live in MCR.

do you ever search videos on archive.org? No matter what I search for, most of the results are "Funny or Die" videos.

Whoever they were, they were certainly busy when they were alive.

Genuinely, this is the 1st time I've thought of collapsing my groups right down on Reaper.

Why are songwriters so obsessed with "getting away"? Getting away from what? It's so vague. And lazy.

And "finding" their "way" an'all.

It's such an abstract concept that really means nothing but sounds like it means a lot. IMO.

ai music really shouldn't even be allowed in the charts.

It's like allowing a robot into the Olympics.

There's not even any point in listening to ai music. It's not real. It's like not being able to have a baby, so you get a robot one instead.

It's just not the same.

We've signed off on my master of the latest Madonna and The Whore track, which will be called "Thieves". Iwan will just make the video and I'll get on with other stuff.

Watch this space.

In the meantime, here's a playlist of our previous releases

starting a new song is one of my favourite things, but sometimes it is like, "here we go again..."

Especially when I'm starting with ideas that are as half-baked as they can be.

But it's never long before I'm being swept along.

didn't feel like singing today, so I listened to one of the tracks I needed to work on, and that gave me the necessary kick up the arse.

question: can you warm up your voice silently? By stretching the muscles you use to sing, but not running any air through them?

My wife is showing me Real Lives of Mormon Wives, or some shit (love the rhyme).

She says they aren't multiple wives... so what's the point?

It's like a documentary about lions but they don't fuck and kill stuff.

y'know, when I make big changes to a project, I always save a new version and keep the old one in case I want to go back.

I never go back. It's always forward.

Timewastin'
An intense and relentless progressive song, in spite of it's dynamic variety. Contains a vocal round, of all things. This is a companion piece to my song

I thought I'd found a killer guitar tone on my Korg unit.

Turns out it was a normal guitar tone with the expression pedal set to wah on full treble.

Going to see Nation of Language tomorrow.

Honestly, it's not my kind of thing - i think of it as ploddy electro - but I get to see a mate I don't see very often.

Here's my last single, "I Might Go Mad" with statistical content:

Idiosyncratic vocals: 1.5/5
Lead gtr: 2/5
Mad drums: 2/5
Dreaminess: 4/5
Bass grooves: 3.5/5

These are quantitative values, not qualitative.

I've decided to describe my new song, "Timewastin'" in statistics (out of 5), to help you decide to listen to it:

Idiosyncratic vocals: 3
Lead guitars: 2
Mad drums: 4
Bass grooves: 3
Progginess: 4
Cacophony: 3.5

I might do this with more of my songs.

you know one thing I don't understand? Why are there rock songs with a sax solo in, when you could have an electric guitar solo?

I just don't get it.

Iwan's happy with the rough mix of the next Madonna and The Whore song... almost time to master, then it'll need a video. And a title.

Listening to my new song:

"Yes, it's very good. I like it very much. It's nearly finished."
November 5, 2025 at 8:48 PM
That drum velocity thing; is it deliberate on the part of the band, do they lack subtlety, or does it suggest they recorded the drums first and the producer made the parts quiet later and didn't bother rerecording the drums? Or is it just the genre? Tbf that's how I used to program my drums.
