But independence does not mean you withdraw from the global community. On the contrary, an independent Cymru (and Scotland) would be far more likely to play a constructive role in tackling global issues than Atlanticist, neoliberal Westminster in thrall to corporate interests.

Absolutely. I spent most of my working life as a Civil Servant at DfT dealing with issues where policy is counter-intuitive (to increase traffic flow you reduce speeds. To reduce congestion you close roads, not widen them). All rigorously evidenced but next to impossible to deliver.

How bitter and patronising Unionists are; look at the language they use about us. I choose to be part of a young and confident democracy that is comfortable with its itself, not a visibly declining failing state with delusions of post-imperial grandeur. One that faces the world as an equal.

Exactly so.

Probably not. Please don’t patronise Welsh voters.

Completely different issue. That’s about Welsh Government spending. I’m talking about funding from Barnett consequentials, which is not hypothecated.

That settlement was the bare minimum under Barnett. Those numbers sound large but are ultimately spin.

And Labour is at one with Reform and Tories on denying Cymru or Scotland the right to an independence referendum. As you should know before sneering at us about independence.

The point is that Labour has failed to address the legacy from the Tories on HS2 - which before election they said they would do - and has continued to classify England-only projects as England and Wales. These are Westminster choices, not the result of statutory requirements.
