Were you also the one who drew him getting pegged? Needless to say, I reference that often.

You were the one who drew the ZoKaza?! (Or is it AkaZo)

...

I am very sorry, I may have extra thoughts.

I agree with you.

Generative AI is a quagmire. An easy trap for those who cannot draw very well or do not have enough confidence in their own work, whether it's drawing, writing, or composing music. Suddenly, this almost magical thing is thrust upon you, a thing that makes your fantasy real? It is a temptation.

I knew somebody who could use MSPaint like a fuckin' champ. Their artwork was insanely good. I have no idea how they shaded things, it looked like they used Photoshop.

I consider using generative AI as a tool an advanced form of stenciling or tracing, though it is much more grotesque and comes with a boat load of baggage. That is why if someone generates images, stories, or music using AI, it is best used as a /toy/.

Essentially, treat AI like you would alcohol.

Granted, the usage of meal kits isn't exactly the best example since there is nothing wrong with using a meal kit. It is the "from-scratch" part that brings me joy. I do know that not everyone has the time or energy to make everything from scratch, that is what stenciling is for.

I value organic composition. This same thing applies to most skills. It brings me much joy to see traditional art on pencil and paper making a resurgence, and it brings me much joy to see artists in the kitchen omit meal kits in favor of from-scratch recipes. (Yes, cooks can be artists, too!)

Sometimes, I may use generative AI for recreation and conceptualization. Folks are free to blacklist me, knowing that. But also know that I do not condone the liberal use of AI outside of personal projects, nor do I condone the sale of artwork touched by AI. The AI bubble will burst, in time.

I've got my own hang-ups with generative AI. It can be used as a toy, but never as a crutch. Never to be sold, but if it is for fun on a personal whim, I sanction that. But so long as an artist declares that they've used generative AI as a tool, they are a lot less slimy than those who do not.

I am intrigued.
