Ours is less for security and more for keeping an eye on packages and brats who have tried vandalizing our door, so that we have photos to give to the manager/police. We got it after some of them threw a big rock at our door and took a chip out of it, and also tried kicking it in.

As a direct adaptation of SH2, no. It uses the same basic plot, but takes liberties. That being said, as an "inspired by," it very much has the feel of Silent Hill games, and I enjoyed it for the most part as its own thing.

From what I was reading, it was a fan theory and the European site "confirmed" it (or at least added to it). That and the need for an "antagonist" seems to be the reason the cult was included in the Return to Silent Hill film.

Okay, so I actually was just reading on this... it's a connection to Silent Hill: Homecoming. Apparently the pre-release stuff for Homecoming implied that Mary Shepherd was related to the stuff in Shepherd's Glen. So at least it's not out of nowhere?
