Did one better: read the API docs for persona. It seems they get back an ID, which links specifically to an authorization, from which they can choose to retrieve the birthdate only. This is a thing they can choose; same ID can also link. The question is whether they keep the ID internally.

you verify today because otherwise you can't hang with friends. #vrchat sells in 4 years time to facebook. Facebook queries the full list of vrc username -> real-life ID names and photos. Your VRC data, tied to you IRL, goes out to all ad networks, readily doxxable by anyone with a CC.

For me, moving around in-vr (with the joystick) intensifies VR fatigue, as it triggers the dissonance between "environment moving, but my body is not". What I'd recommend: sit while moving, stand while standing in place, and try not to mix the two too much!
