Why not show the video and teach students to critique it and deconstruct it? They need the critical thinking skills to recognize propaganda and religious indoctrination.

It’s all fake money, it’s money they invent for military aims but would otherwise not spend. Also the poor are destitute because fixed poverty is necessary to discipline labor not because our resources go elsewhere. The Vietnam war coincided w/ great society welfare expansion. it’s a kind of glib way to frame a real phenomenon about how public money and US debt financing operates to feed pentagon contractors but ignores key social problems, but ultimately it’s really not a top 10 example for ruling class graft and waste. There are much more sinister places to start 3/3
