Nelya - Secure Period Tracking App
@nelya-app.bsky.social

Releasing our secure period tracking app soon.

Stay tuned! We track cycles, not you.
Remember that Period Tracking apps aren't covered by HIPAA so they can sell or give away your data. And if your info is in the cloud (in US) it can be subpoenaed.
Use offline apps or paper calendar.

But if it is offline app
Warrant or not. We shrug politely: “Sorry, nothing here."

It is wise to use PIN-code-protected offline apps or paper calendars.

If a judge or magistrate issues a production order or warrant for your period data in the UK, app developers are legally required to hand it over in many cases.

Any data stored in the cloud is vulnerable to subpoenas, but an even more common phenomenon is companies selling your data to third parties.
August 21, 2025 at 3:46 AM
This is really important. You can also use Offline Period Tracking Apps that can't and won't sell your data. Also subpoenas are useless because there is no data in the cloud.

Use Offline Period Tracking Apps or paper calendar. Own your data.

If your health data is in the US servers it can be also retrieved by subpoenas.

We have one time purchase Period Tracking App. Now around 10 dollars.

We suggest that leave a bad review on app store if the app violates data privacy and go old school with paper calendar or use offline Period Tracking App.
August 7, 2025 at 4:10 AM
Unfortunately it seems that those apps collect so much data from your phone so they can sort bogus data by gender etc. pretty easily.

Many Period Tracking Apps have way too many permissions requested to access your data they don't really need.
August 7, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Use paper calendar or offline period tracker. And always read Terms and Conditions when installing apps. Even though it is pretty boring law jargon.
August 7, 2025 at 4:01 AM
Unfortunately most Period Tracking Apps are not covered by HIPAA because they are not "covered entities".

We have checked this with HIPAA specialised lawyer.

Every app that has cloud services that has servers in the US (almost all) can be ordered to release the data requested by Criminal Justice system. It doesn't matter that what they say in their slogans if they have servers in the US.

Pardon us for jumping in but we are releasing our period tracking app soon. It has possibility to track mood and emotions easily. It is fully offline app with a PIN code.
July 29, 2025 at 8:46 PM
This is why it is the best to use fully offline apps for tracking periods.
July 22, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Use paper calendar or apps that work fully offline.
June 12, 2025 at 9:50 AM
If you have periods we suggest to use paper calender or an offline app for tracking.

If you don't have periods please educate others and don't download apps that share or sell your data.

Stay safe!

By downloading their apps you give those companies more money when they sell your data (even with bogus period data).

They might collect your email, Facebook and other info and after that it is easier to sort out target groups.

Best to avoid period tracking apps that collect your data in cloud.
June 11, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Choose period tracking apps that don't store your data in servers.

Here is one. 👋
It baffles me that many period tracking app designers calculate averages and then deside what is "normal" for each individual. And it is shame that women might think there is a problem in their body when the problem is in the app design.

We believe that individuals with miscarriages are in more danger because law enforcement can use subpoenas to gather info about individual's periods etc. from period tracking apps that have servers in US.
